An American renowned television journalist, anchor, reporter and commentator who is widely known for her work with NBC News. She is daughter to Cecile and Sydney Mitchell. She was raised in Jewish family. She graduated from New Rochelle High School and holds a degree in Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature from University of Pennsylvania. Andrea Mitchell was born on October 30, 1946, in New Rochelle, New York to Cecile Mitchell and Sydney Mitchell. She was raised in a Jewish family along with two brothers, Arthur Mitchell and Susan Greenstein.
Her father was the chief executive officer and her mother was an administrator at the New York Institute of Technology in Manhattan.
Mitchell completed her graduation from New Rochelle High School. In 1967, she receives a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature from the University of Pennsylvania where she served as news director of student radio station WXPN.
After completing her graduation she hired as a reporter at KYW radio. Later, Mitchell rose to fame as the station's City Hall correspondent and also reported for sister station KYW-TV.
