One football fan has "won" Halloween 2022 with a sensational outfit that parodied a tweet made about former Rangers star Peter Lovenkrands' dog.

In 2016, Peter Lovenkrands shared a tweet that had a link to an Instagram photo on his Twitter account with the caption: “12 years old today. Happy birthday my beautiful boy.” And one unfortunate fan responded without opening the link.

He replied: "Hopefully grows up and scores goals against Celtic, just like his old man!” However, the link showed a picture of a Lovenkrands' dog - leading Gers fans to joke the dog would be playing for Rangers, including one infamous edited snap showing the dog celebrating a goal in a Rangers shirt.

And one fan dressed as the dog with a Rangers shirt on to the delight of the Gers faithful. Craig Adam Kerr, a 23-year-old dentist from Glasgow, was the genius inside the costume,

"Halloween outfit of the year," one fan tweeted, and a second added: "Naaa this is class!" While a third responded: "Hands down best Halloween costume I've ever seen!"

A fourth replied to the tweet: "Can’t imagine trying to explain this to someone who doesn’t get it!"

The Danish star spent six years at Rangers - between 2000 and 2006 - and he returned to Ibrox in 2017 to take on a coaching role in the Gers academy.

However, he left in 2020 to pursue coaching in Japan, after leaving he said: "I have been part of this special club for over 20 years and I have so many amazing memories as a player and a coach and as a fan, the club will always have a special place in my heart.

"And I want to thank all the fans who have supported me as a player and as a coach."
